Can indoor tanning salons use their equipment to treat medical conditions like psoriasis, acne, and S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder)?

Legally I think no . This is beacuse you can not even sell any medication for such diseases without the FDA approval . So there is no point of treatment of such diseases by these tanning salons , while they might offer advice to their clients unofficially.

It is said that some tanning products can use to cure some skin diseases like acne and psoriasis. Some experts made research and studies about it and they discover that it is true. It is good for the users who have that skin disease. www.gm2labs.com

I don't think that tanning products can actually cure some skin diseases. It is best if the person with psoriasis or acne should consult first with their dermatologist for safety and to lessen the risk of infection.

Two of my friends are registered nurses.  One uses tanning beds for S.A.D, and she swears by it.  I had recently read something on the internet about newer tanning beds not working as well as the older versions for S.A.D, but I haven't researched it much.   My other friend uses it for her psoriasis.  She's only gone for a few weeks now, and last night she said it was improving already, which she showed me and it definitely looks better than it did.  Hope that helps.

Controlled tanning has many benefits for skin conditions.  Certainly check with your doctor to make sure it is okay!  Salons can not advertise that they provide medical benefits.  Many people use tanning for SAD, psoriasis, acne, eczema, and vitamin D deficiency. There is many sites that explain the benefits in detail :)

If you want to cure your skin you should go to the doctor or the pharmacy, not the tanning salon, they're main purpose is darkening people's skin even if there are other benefits.

I have seen some products that are medically prepared just in order to get over skin problems. But, as far as tanning concerns and your skin with acne or any other skin disease cannot be treated with the products that are used in tanning salons.

It requires, proper medication and after treating it, you can consult with the doc about getting your skin tanned.
